Overview

Virgin Bet, launched in 2019 by Virgin Group’s gaming division, delivers a clean, mobile‑first betting experience built around simplicity and daily value. The app focuses on football, racing, and its popular “Virgin Bet Fives” game, offering quick navigation, strong price boosts, and fast withdrawals. It provides a modern, streamlined platform designed for bettors who want straightforward markets and consistent daily promotions.

Ease of Use — ⭐⭐⭐

Virgin Bet offers a very similar interface to LiveScore Bet mobile app, not surprising as they are sister brands under the LiveScore brand. The most commonly accessed items are cleverly placed above the fold. Like most other modern betting apps, if you have auto log-in set up, either FaceID (iOS) or Auto Sign-In (Android) will log you in automatically.

Upon log in, you are greeted with the homepage where you can access many items (football, horse racing, promotions, betslip, current bets, premade bet builders) in one single tap.

Deposit and Withdrawal

The deposit page is found in your account page. Firstly, click on the person icon in the top right corner to navigate to account page. The red deposit button can then be found at the top right corner. Tapping it will bring you to the deposit page, where £5 is already pre-selected along with some other presets (£10, £30). This is a convenient feature for bettors who usually top up these amounts. You can always use the input field to enter some other amount if you want.

Withdrawal is also simple. From your account page, tap the long Withdraw button below. Enter the amount you want to withdraw, and tap the Withdraw button. Interestingly when withdrawing, you actually need to enter the withdrawal amount manually; there are no presets.

Homepage content

The homepage features a carousel of promotions and price boosts for bet builders. Savvy bettors may appreciate price boosts, which I've observed to be roughly between 9-17%. Not too shabby.

Scrolling down, you get a carousel of horse racecards, as well as a list of popular upcoming matches, where you can see odds and place match result bets in one tap.

You can also search for player, team, or event. Click on the magnifying glass icon near the top of the screen to bring out the search bar, and enter away. No more scrolling around to find your favorite matches.

Functionally, this is almost identical to LiveScore Bet app. The only noticeable difference that I can see right away is that Virgin Bet app uses red and white (light mode) for their theme, whereas LiveScore Bet app is predominantly black and orange (dark mode).

Responsiveness

Just like LiveScore Bet app, this is easily among the most responsive betting apps I've seen so far. From a freshly rebooted iPhone, time between me pressing my app icon to the display of homepage took an unimpressive 5.3s. This includes the auto FaceID authentication log-in flow.

However, what truly impressed me was that after the initial rather long start-up loading period, everything else is lightning fast. I did not experience any loading screens navigating the app, regardless of football matches, account pages etc.

UX Facts

  • Time to reach homepage: 5.3s
  • Average page loading speed: 0.3s
  • Overall responsiveness: Excellent

Customisation

There are no major customisation options (e.g., dark mode), and the app is light mode by default, opting to use a clean white and red theme.

Like most other betting apps, you can favourite your most commonly accessed sports. Start by tapping on Find in the bottom navigation bar. You will be brought to a page where you can see all the available sports, and you can tap the pin icon to enter Pin mode. This brings out pins on the left for all items. Tapping on the individual pins allows you to pin your item to the top, allowing quick access in the future.

I really like how you can access your pinned items in your homepage as well, reducing the number of taps to 1. This provides a great user experience by minimising the number of actions for frequently accessed items.

I have written the exact same grumble in my LiveScore Bet app review - you'll have to first click on the pin on the right hand corner to activate pin mode, before you can pin any item. Like, just show the pins from the start.

Betfred addressed this issue by simply placing the favorite stars from the start - read our Betfred app review to find out more.

UX Facts

  • Total actions to pin favorites: 3
  • Overall difficulty: Easy

Placing a bet

To place a bet, tap a selection. This opens your Betslip and adds the selection. The app defaults to a £10 stake, and you can click Place bet to place your bet instantly. The default stake can also be changed from your settings menu, accessible via your account page. This is a nifty feature, especially for bettors who enjoy live betting - every second counts when odds are moving fast.

Placing a Bet Builder bet

A Bet Builder combines multiple selections from a single event, where all selections must win in order for you to win the entire bet. After selecting a match, tap the Bet Builder tab near the top of the match's page. You can then pick your selections, which adds them to your Betslip. As usual, the default stake is selected for you - efficient bettors will be delighted by this.

The Bet Builder is called "Acca" in the app, which I found a little confusing, as most betting sites use the term Acca exclusively for accumulators/ multiples.

Navigation Facts

  • Total actions to place Bet Builder bet: 6
  • Overall Difficulty: Easy

Placing an accumulator bet

Accumulators (called Multiples in the app) combine selections across multiple events. When you pick multiple selections from different events, you can navigate to the Multiples tab in your Betslip. This allows you to input your stake if you do not want to use the default. The minimum stake is 10p.

Navigation Facts

  • Total actions to place Accumulator bet: 4
  • Overall Difficulty: Very Easy

Promotions

Promotions page can be accessed in a single tap from homepage, from the top navigation bar titled "Promotions".

Virgin Bet features a weekly Money Back as Free Bet promotion for horse racing on selected races if your horse loses - incredible value for the average bettor and statistically better than LiveScore Bet's Money Back when horse finishes 2nd to 4th.

Virgin Bet also has 2UP early payout baked into lots of eligible football matches, and the full list can be seen under the promotion banner of this offer. This means that if your team goes 2 goals ahead at any point in time during the first 90 minutes of the match, you get paid instantly. This passively provides bettors with an increased probability of winning at no cost.

  • Overall Difficulty: Very Easy

How to use free bets

The app actively informed me when I had free bets, using a purple banner that is strikingly different from the rest of its theme.

After adding an eligible selection to Betslip, a present icon will be visible, allowing you to select an appropriate free bet.

Minimum Deposit — £5

The minimum deposit is £5, making it accessible for casual bettors.

Offers & Promotions — ⭐⭐☆

Virgin Bet provides a decent sign-up offer for new customers, and numerous ongoing promotions that makes it exciting to check back regularly. Here's a list of the most common offers I've seen:

  • Bet & Get offers — welcome bonus, big events etc.
  • FIVES — Virgin Bet's exclusive free game - pick random players and win prizes
  • Price boosts — enhanced winnings on bet builder bets.
  • Acca boosts — enhanced winnings on accumulator bets.
  • 2UP Early Payout — paying out early when your team's up 2 goals
  • Free spins — either completely free, or require qualifying stake.
  • Free bets — random, completely free bets (up to £10).
  • and many more...

Free Bets In Detail

I went through available offers and promotions over a 30-day period, starting from my first deposit.

Virgin Bet has generously offered Bet & Get offers on events such as Champions League, a bunch of Deposit, Bet & Get, free Bet Builders etc. Similar to LiveScore Bet, Virgin Bet has the exact same daily games that award spins or cash, such as Search of the Phoenix and Doubly Bubbly. I also liked the weekly offer where you get your money back if your horse loses on a specific race — essentially a free bet by itself.

Below is my table of values of free bets and offers that I got to enjoy over a month.

Withdrawal Speed — ⭐⭐⭐

Withdrawals are typically processed between instant to a few working days for most payment methods.

Almost all UK-licensed bookmakers, including Virgin Bet, restrict withdrawals to previously used payment methods to comply with UK regulations.

Overall Value — ⭐⭐⭐

Virgin Bet's native mobile app shines in its lightning fast responsiveness. Navigation around the app is arguably one of the best I've seen, a feature that live bettors can benefit greatly from. It offers an excellent user experience, with near perfect scores in features that we've reviewed.

It also comes with an in-built search feature as well, where you can search for specific football matches, horse racecards etc. Extremely valuable for value bettors who love diving into obscure markets, or otherwise busy bettors who just want to bet on specific events.

Virgin Bet is currently offering a decent welcome offer for new UK customers. We only include the best offers that are straightforward, easy to claim, and genuinely useful for new bettors:
