Overview

Founded in 1997, Unibet is a well-established UK betting brand known for its clean, user-friendly platform and wide range of betting markets. Its app is designed to cater to both casual and experienced bettors, offering straightforward navigation alongside more advanced features like live betting, cash-out options, and detailed statistics to support informed wagering.

It provides extensive coverage across major sports such as football, horse racing, tennis, and basketball, along with a strong selection of in-play markets. With its balance of simplicity and depth, Unibet appeals to users looking for both traditional bets and more strategic betting opportunities.

As of writing, Unibet's app has a healthy 4.2/5 rating on the iOS App Store with 5.6k reviews, while its Android app does better at 4.0/5 rating on the Google Play Store with 13.6k reviews.

Ease of Use — ⭐⭐⭐

The overall user interface of the app is clean and simple, with well-spaced buttons and appropriately-sized fonts. The promotional banner sits right at the top of the screen, and as of time of review, prominently features the upcoming Arsenal vs Fulham Premier League match — the most popular upcoming match.

Navigation Facts

  • Total actions to reach Football: 1
  • Total actions to reach Horse Racing: 1
  • Writer's review: Very convenient

Deposit and Withdrawal

There is no explicit button with the word "Deposit" that many other betting apps love to do, but it is intuitively obvious that you can deposit by tapping on the plus button beside your current funds amount.

Withdrawal can be easily found in the Account page, under the Withdraw button.

Navigation Facts

  • Total actions to initiate Deposit: 4
  • Total actions to initiate Withdraw: 6
  • Overall difficulty: Easy

Homepage content

Unibet's app homepage starts with a huge promotional banner that, instead of promoting advertisement-like offers, showcases the most popular upcoming match. To an average bettor like myself who almost exclusively bet on upcoming popular matches, this is great design.

The sports menu navigational bar follows after, and the icon graphics for each sport is clean and instantly recognisable. Kudos to their design team.

Scrolling down, we first see the Top Picks, which presumably shows upcoming popular matches, followed by Boosted Odds which are just odds boosts on certain events.

I love how Unibet has decided against flooding the homepage with bet builder boosts like many other betting apps, suggesting to me that the user interface and choice of placements may have come from bettors themselves.

Responsiveness

The app is incredibly responsive. Feedback from user input is almost instantaneous, and loading animations are fleeting but clearly displayed. Navigating between pages took about 0.9s, and the app itself feels snappy. This is, without a doubt, a well-built native mobile app that Unibet has properly invested towards.

It took 7.8s to load up the homepage from the time when I opened the app, including native biometric authentication (Face ID). Native authentication is optional, but I am glad that the app is built to support it.

UX Facts

  • Time to reach homepage: 7.8s
  • Average page loading speed: 0.9s
  • Overall responsiveness: Excellent

Customisation

The app comes with a clean dark, green, and yellow theme, but there is no light mode.

There is the option to favorite both sports and the events themselves, which is a first that I've seen so far. To favorite a sports, start from the right of the sports menu navigation bar, tap All sports, then tap the star beside a sport to favorite it.

That's it! Simple as that. You can see all your favorites in your favorites page, which can be found by tapping the star button at the top of your screen.

Similarly for events, just tap the little star, for example when on homepage, it's located at the top right corner.

I feel that Unibet app has missed an opportunity to include favorited sports in the sport menu navigation bar itself — a nifty feature that can be seen in Paddy Power app.

Placing a bet

Placing a bet is easy. Tap on any selection, which adds it to your Betslip, then enter your stake and place your bet. Unibet app provides an in-app numeric pad that has quick increment buttons (£5, £10 etc.), which is really handy for bettors looking to bet rounded amounts.

Personally, I would love to have a default stake that is also configurable, but I can forgive Unibet for not having it as they have provided bettors with a quick increment feature.

Navigation Facts

  • Total actions to place a normal Bet: 4
  • Overall Difficulty: Easy

Placing a Bet Builder bet

The steps to place a bet builder is similar to most other betting apps. Firstly, tap your event, then tap the bet builder tab. Pick your selections, then tap the odds button to add them to your Betslip.

I would prefer for the app to automatically add my selections to the Betslip instead of requiring me to add it manually, which you can actually do by NOT navigating to the bet builder tab and instead tap your selections right away. Nice.

Navigation Facts

  • Total actions to place Bet Builder bet: 7
  • Overall Difficulty: Easy

Placing an accumulator bet

To place an accumulator bet, simply tap your selections from different events to add them to your Betslip.

  • Total actions to place Accumulator bet: 6
  • Overall Difficulty: Easy

Promotions

The Promotions page can be navigated from Account page. Tap the top right person icon to navigate to Acccount, then tap Bonuses & Promotions.

Minimum Deposit — £5

The minimum deposit is £5. This makes it accessible to casual bettors.

Offers & Promotions — ⭐☆☆

Unibet has a decent welcome offer which for some reason did not trigger for me, as well as Uniboosts which are odds boosts on selected events. Here's a list of offers I've seen:

  • Bet & Get offers — welcome bonus etc.
  • Money Back Specials — if horse finishes 2nd or 3rd on selected races.
  • Best Odds Guarantee — on selected UK & IRE horse races
  • Acca Boosts — enhanced winnings on races accas.
  • Extra Places — on selected horse races.
  • and more...

Free Bets In Detail

I joined Unibet as a new customer with a welcome offer that for some reason was not credited to my account, and tracked offers and promotions over a 30-day period.

Except there weren't really any. I think Unibet could have done better in this aspect, as offers can be easily used to entice bettors back to the app regularly.

Withdrawal Speed — ⭐⭐⭐

I initiated a withdrawal on a weekday morning, and my withdrawal amount arrived in my bank account after 40 minutes. Withdrawal method was Mastercard debit, which was the same payment method that I've previously used to deposit funds.

In reality, withdrawal speeds tend to be faster as operators strive for the "underpromise, but overdeliver" mantra, but the advertised speeds for various withdrawal methods are:

  • Debit card: 1-3 working days
  • Apple Pay: 1-3 bank days
  • Google Pay: 1-3 bank days
  • Revolut Pay: 0-1 days
  • Instant bank transfer: 0-3 days

Almost all UK-licensed bookmakers, including Unibet, restrict withdrawals to previously used payment methods to comply with UK regulations.

Overall Value — ⭐⭐☆

Unibet's native mobile app features a really clean user interface that is coupled with excellent responsiveness. Placing a bet is simple and beginner-friendly, and Unibet's decision to prioritise most popular upcoming events over bet builder and acca boosts shows that they truly have developed the app with bettors in mind.

Despite a lack of Bet & Get style of offers, the app provides a great user experience that is intuitive and snappy. If you prefer to be showered with lots of offers, Betfred is known to be pretty generous in this aspect.

Unibet currently offers a decent welcome bonus for new UK customers. We only highlight betting apps with straightforward, high-value promotions that are easy to claim and genuinely useful for new bettors:
