Overview

kwiff (stylised with lowercase) is a modern UK betting brand known for its unique "supercharged" odds feature, where selected bets receive unexpected boosts. Its betting app focuses on providing bettors with lots of different ways on how they can bet, as well as the element of surprise in the form of "Supercharges".

Despite being a newer operator that started in 2015, kwiff is fully licensed in the UK and provides coverage of major sports including football, horse racing, tennis, basketball, and in-play markets. Its vast number of betting options makes it a strong choice for users who enjoy placing bets that are slightly more complicated than your usual bets.

As of writing, kwiff's app has a respectable 4.6/5 rating on the iOS App Store with 9.9k reviews, while its Android app is at 4.0/5 rating on the Google Play Store with 3.6k reviews.

Ease of Use — ⭐⭐☆

The homepage has your typical betting app structure where most commonly accessed elements are placed above the fold. This includes a person icon for Account page, a navigation bar, promotional carousel, boosts, and a little menu bar at the bottom.

  • Total actions to reach Football: 1
  • Total actions to reach Horse Racing: 1
  • Writer's review: Very convenient

Deposit and Withdrawal

Unlike some betting apps that chose to place a Deposit button prominently on the homepage, kwiff app does it differently. There are several ways to get to the Deposit page, but the quickest way is to tap on your remaining balance. This brings up a little tab that allows you to quickly deposit funds into your account. Pretty intuitive — what else would you tap to manage your funds if not for the button with your amount of funds in it?

Withdrawal is harder to find, and I am disappointed at kwiff's missed opportunity to place the withdrawal option in the same area as the quick deposit tab. First, navigate to your Account by tapping the person icon at the top, then scroll down to find My Wallet, expand it, and tap Withdrawal.

Navigation Facts

  • Total actions to initiate Deposit: 4
  • Total actions to initiate Withdraw: 8
  • Overall difficulty: Withdrawal needs improvement

Homepage content

The homepage starts with a quick access navigation bar, followed by a promotional banner that rotates every few seconds. Bet Builder boosts take up almost the entire bottom half of the screen.

kwiff loves to promote their signature "supercharge", which is their brand's version of odds boosts with a tinge of surprise. Moving further down, we get the typical in-play and upcoming popular events.

Responsiveness

Okay, this app has got to be one of the worst out of all the betting apps I've reviewed so far when it comes to responsiveness. This was extremely surprising to me, considering that the user interface is sleek and modern-looking, suggesting that it is a newer brand (which it is).

Firstly, what's up with the scrolling? Vertical scrolling in the homepage is both inconsistent and annoying. The scrolling is normal at times, but more often than not it overscrolls unintuitively and really messes with my user experience. My only guess is that it's trying to help the user by auto-scrolling to the next category, but I think that is either just a bad idea from the onset, or that it wasn't implemented and tested properly.

Other than the scrolling issue, I did not like that there was no feedback from user interactions such as pressing buttons. For example, when tapping on a button or a match, there is no visual feedback, and I am left there wondering whether the app has registered my input, or if it is simply loading; there were a lot of instances where my inputs weren't registered. Thankfully, tapping on selections are fine, as buttons are clearly highlighted and added to Betslip.

Moving on, it takes a long 6.2s to fully load up the homepage from the time I open the app. However, there is no native authentication (Face ID) and you're just logged-in until your session ends. I'm still on the camp that betting apps should support Face ID for a safer experience, primarily against people who can have transient access to your unlocked phone.

UX Facts

  • Time to reach homepage: 6.2s
  • Average page loading speed: 1s
  • Overall responsiveness: Need rework

Customisation

The app has a nice midnight theme of dark and purple colors, but there are no customisation options (e.g., light mode), and I could not find a way to pin favorites.

Placing a bet

Placing a bet is simple. Just tap on the odds button of your selection, which adds it to your Betslip. Pull up your Betslip to check and place your bet.

There is a default stake, and lo and behold, it's configurable! To configure your default stake, first tap the top right person icon to go to your Account page, scroll down and tap on My Account tab, and tap Preferences. This opens the Preferences page where you can set your default stake. This is great stuff, because it allows bettors to place bets much quickly. Turns out a lot of other betting apps do not have this simple little feature, so hats off to kwiff for providing it.

Navigation Facts

  • Total actions to place a normal Bet: 2
  • Overall Difficulty: Easy

Placing a Bet Builder bet

To build your own bet builder, tap on an event to open the event's page. Interestingly, there is no need tap on a separate Bet Builder tab, as selections that are eligible to be in a bet builder have a little icon on them indicating so. I never understood the reason for a separate bet builder tab in most other apps, but kwiff does not do it. Tap selections to add them to your bet builder, then open your Betslip to place your bet.

I am not amused by the inconsistency of not having default stakes in these, though developers at kwiff may argue otherwise.

kwiff app notably has an option called the "Flex" where, unlike traditional bet builders, you do not have to get every single selection correct to win, at the cost of lowered odds. In my opinion, this is a great feature for bettors looking for more creative ways to bet without placing each bet separately.

Navigation Facts

  • Total actions to place Bet Builder bet: 7
  • Overall Difficulty: Okay

Placing an accumulator bet

Accumulator bets are conceptually similar, just tap your selections from different events to add them to your Betslip.

kwiff offers innovative ways to place a bet right in the Betslip, such as Angel (I've never heard this before), and Flex acca. Different bet types cater to different bettors, and kwiff's attempt to do so is commendable.

Navigation Facts

  • Total actions to place Accumulator bet: 6
  • Overall Difficulty: Okay

Promotions

The Promotions page can be navigated from Account page. Tap the top right person icon to navigate to Acccount, then tap Promotions tab.

Navigation Facts

  • Total actions to reach Promotions: 2
  • Overall Difficulty: Easy

How to use free bets

If you have free bets, they can be activated in your Betslip right before you place a bet.

Minimum Deposit — £10

The minimum deposit is £10. This is slightly higher than the usual £5 that bigger brands offer, but still lower than the £20 requirement from some of the smaller brands.

Offers & Promotions — ⭐⭐☆

kwiff overwhelmingly promotes their brand-exclusive "supercharge", which are surprise odds boosts every time you place a bet. They also offer a good welcome offer, but I did not get it after placing my qualifying stake. Here's a list of offers I've seen:

  • Bet & Get offers — welcome bonus etc.
  • Weekend Supercharge — odds boost on 3-fold acca.
  • Supercharge Season — free daily spin if settled bet in last 7 days
  • Flex — win accas without all selections correct, at lower odds.
  • Extra E/W Places — on selected horse races.
  • and more...

Free Bets In Detail

I joined kwiff with a welcome offer that for some reason was not credited to me, and tracked offers and promotions over a 30-day period.

Below is my table of values of free bets and offers that I got to enjoy over a month.

Withdrawal Speed — ⭐⭐⭐

My withdrawal took 16 minutes from approval to receipt of funds in my account. This is amongst the gold standard of withdrawal speeds for betting apps. I can only hope for a future where we can have instant withdrawals.

Almost all UK-licensed bookmakers, including kwiff, restrict withdrawals to previously used payment methods to comply with UK regulations.

Overall Value — ⭐⭐☆

kwiff's native mobile app offers bettors an exciting betting experience with surprise odds boosts known as supercharges, and a multitude of ways to place complex bets, such as Angel and Flex. If you are a beginner, you should first check out our complete beginner's guide to using betting apps, as kwiff's betting features may be better suited for experienced bettors.

Unfortunately, it has a lot of room to improve when it comes to responsiveness, which severely hurts user experience. If you prefer a modern app with great responsiveness, you can read our full review of Midnite app here.

kwiff currently offers a great welcome bonus for new UK customers. We only highlight betting apps with straightforward, high-value promotions that are easy to claim and genuinely useful for new bettors:
