Overview

Founded by Joe Coral in 1926, Coral has grown into one of the UK's most established and trusted betting brands. The Coral betting app continues that legacy, offering a fast, reliable, and user-friendly mobile experience backed by decades of industry expertise. Coral provides extensive coverage of major sports including football, horse racing, tennis, greyhounds, and in-play betting, making it a strong choice for both beginners and experienced bettors.

As of writing, Coral's app has a universally acclaimed 4.7/5 rating on the iOS App Store with 62k reviews, while its Android app sits at an equally impressive 4.1/5 rating on the Google Play Store with 11.2k reviews.

Ease of Use — ⭐⭐⭐

Do not let the age of the brand deceive you. Coral betting app is modern and native, and it looked as if it was designed for mobile from the start. The layout itself is not any different from most betting apps, conforming to a certain predefined model that includes a quick navigation bar, promotional carousel, odds boosts, and featured matches.

The app manages to squeeze a lot of elements in its introductory page, yet every element seems to belong to its respective area without a feeling of clutter.

Deposit and Withdrawal

Deviating from most betting apps that urges you to deposit with huge Deposit buttons, Coral does not do that. Instead, you can find the deposit page by first navigating to your account page via the person icon on the top right corner. Interestingly, the default amount is set to £10, although the minimum deposit amount is actually £5.

The withdrawal tab is right below the deposit tab. I have always been an advocate of equally emphasising both the deposit and withdrawal options, and Coral does that just fine.

Homepage content

The homepage starts with a quick access navigation bar, followed by a carousel of promotional offers that revolves every few seconds, and boosters and featured matches right after.

Scrolling down, we can see horse racecards of upcoming races, and then featured bet builders and boosts for premade accas.

Personally I am overwhelmed by the amount of content in the entire homepage, but like almost all other betting apps, Coral does not have customisation options for their user interface, so bettors are stuck with this.

Responsiveness

The app is quite responsive in general. From opening the app to the homepage being fully loaded, it took a total of 6.4s, including native authentication (FaceID). This is as average as it gets.

Navigation between pages ranged between 1s to 2s, depending on whether the page has been loaded before. For example, when I tapped on a football match, it first took around 2s. Subsequently, when I tapped on other football matches, it took about half that time to load everything.

You can read our Betfred app review if you prefer a more responsive app that also has a long history as a bookmaker.

  • Time to reach homepage: 6.4s
  • Average page loading speed: 1.5s

Customisation

There are no customisation options (e.g., dark mode), and I also could not find a way to pin favorites, if the feature even exists in the first place.

Placing a bet

I have noticed that the bigger brands usually features a smart Betslip that can be expanded should the user requires it. Coral is no exception.

Upon picking a selection, the Betslip clearly shows all the information I would want to know, including the bet itself, odds, returns, and an in-app numeric pad that has a quick select of preset bet increments.

There is notably no default stake, which I believe has its own pros and cons. Having a default stake, especially when it is configurable, allows bettors to place bets quickly, but it comes with a drawback of the fat-finger problem, where careless users may accidentally tap Place Bet without intending to.

  • Overall Difficulty: Easy

Placing a Bet Builder bet

To build your own bet builder, firstly tap on a match, then the Bet Builder tab. Pick your selections, and the bet builder automatically appears in your Betslip. It is really that easy.

Navigation Facts

  • Total actions to place Bet Builder bet: 9
  • Overall Difficulty: Okay

Placing an accumulator bet

Similarly, for accumulator bets, you can first pick your selections, then open your Betslip, and place your bet.

For bettors where speed of bet placement is crucial (e.g., live bettors), Midnite app is a better alternative as it requires much less actions to place a bet, favoring quick bettors.

Navigation Facts

  • Total actions to place Accumulator bet: 7
  • Overall Difficulty: Okay

Promotions

The Promotions page can be navigated from Account page. Tap the top right person icon to navigate to Acccount, then tap Promotions tab, or scroll down if you cannot see it yet.

The app features several free Coral-exclusive dailies to entice users to return on a daily basis. This includes the Rewards Shaker, where you can shake your phone to get a random bet builder boost, and Rewards Grabber, a virtual claw machine game where you can win Coral coins. A tip — always gamble your coins in the Rewards Grabber for a multiplier, as the expected returns are greater than if you do not.

There is also a Football Super Series, where you can predict the answers to 4 questions, MCQ-style, for free. The grand prize is straight up £100 withdrawal cash; remember to participate whenever it's up. There is also a similar Super Series for Racing.

How to use free bets

If you have available free bets, Coral app is kind enough to inform you via a little green circle with the letters "FB" in it. Tap the icon to bring up your Account page, then tap Sports Free Bets (notice that there is also a little green circle on the present icon).

To use your free bet, you have to first add an eligible bet to your Betslip. If your bet is eligible, a yellow-colored box with the words "FREE BET" will be visible. Tap on it to bring up the free bet selection page, where you can then apply it to your Betslip.

Minimum Deposit — £5

The minimum deposit is £5. This makes it accessible for casual bettors.

Offers & Promotions — ⭐⭐☆

Coral has a decent welcome offer for new customers, a couple of free dailies, and lots of boosts offers. Here's a list of offers I've seen:

  • Bet & Get offers — welcome bonus etc.
  • Super Series — free predictions to win prizes.
  • Racing Club — free-to-join club for racing bettors.
  • Extra Places — extra places on horse racing.
  • Best Odds Guaranteed — on selected UK/Irish horse and UK Greyhound racing.
  • Odds Booster — enhanced winnings on accas.
  • Free Bets — random, completely free bets.
  • and more...

Free Bets In Detail

I joined Coral with an average welcome offer and noted down promotions and offers that I have benefited from over a 30-day period.

Withdrawal Speed — ⭐⭐⭐

My withdrawal took a mere 15 minutes on a weekday night. Yes, 15 minutes. At 10pm.

What's even better is that Coral's withdrawal page claims that withdrawals are processed between 1-3 business days, but my personal experience begged to differ, in a good way. Coral underpromised, and overdelivered.

Almost all UK-licensed bookmakers, including Coral, restrict withdrawals to previously used payment methods to comply with UK regulations.

Overall Value — ⭐⭐⭐

Coral's native mobile app is clearly designed to be beginner-friendly with a streamlined Betslip, helpful tooltips, and clean user interface.

It notably did not have searching or favoriting functionalities, making it an app suitable for beginners but not for bettors that dabble with obscure markets.

Coral currently offers a decent welcome bonus for new UK customers. We only highlight betting apps with straightforward, high-value promotions that are easy to claim and genuinely useful for new bettors:
